Starlight Express

This page shows some deep sky images taken with a SXpress one shot colour camera. This camera is able to synthesize colour images as it has colour filters built into the camera. It is necessary to take longer exposures than mono but still less time than a tri-colour image.

This is M76 image made of 5x 4minute exposures and shows what can be done.

The following image is the raw downloaded file and is very clean as it does not have the 'hot pixels' associated with the Kodak chips. The colour image is a reasonable image for such a short exposure.
